The World Doesn't Need Another Version of Someone Else. It Needs You. 🌿

Stop Comparing. Start Creating.

Have you ever found yourself scrolling through social media and wondering:

"How do they travel so much?"

"How can they afford that house?"

"Why does everyone else seem to have life figured out?"

Or maybe you've quietly told yourself,

"I'm just not a creative person."

If you've had these thoughts, you're not alone.

The truth is, comparison often happens so subtly that we don't even notice it. It becomes part of our daily thinking, quietly influencing our emotions, our decisions, and even the way we see ourselves.

One moment we're feeling grateful for our lives, our families, or the progress we've made. The next, we've stumbled across someone else's highlight reel, and suddenly our own life doesn't seem enough.

This is why comparison has long been called the thief of joy.

But I believe it steals something even deeper.

It steals our authenticity.

Comparison Pulls Us Away From Ourselves

When we constantly measure ourselves against others, we begin making choices based on who we think we should become instead of who we truly are.

We follow careers that don't fulfill us.

We chase goals that aren't ours.

We hide parts of ourselves because we're afraid they won't be accepted.

Little by little, we disconnect from our own voice.

And that's where creativity begins to disappear.

You're More Creative Than You Think

One of the biggest myths I hear is:

"I'm just not a creative person."

But here's what I've learned.

There is no such thing as creative people and non-creative people.

There are only people who choose to use their creativity and those who don't.

Creativity isn't limited to painting, writing, or music.

It's the way you solve problems.

The way you express love.

The way you prepare a meal.

The conversations you create.

The dreams you dare to follow.

The life you intentionally build.

Creativity is simply the expression of your originality.

And your originality can never be compared.

When you fully embrace that truth, comparison begins to lose its power.

Without comparison, ideas like ahead or behind, better or worse, simply lose their meaning.

Three Ways to Reconnect With Your Creativity

The beautiful thing about creativity is that it isn't something you find.

It's something you practice.

1. Get Deliberate

If creativity is something you only do when you have extra time, chances are you'll never make space for it.

Treat it like an appointment with yourself.

Block time each week to create.

Write.

Take photographs.

Dance.

Paint.

Journal.

Cook.

Garden.

Whatever helps you feel alive.

I've learned that when I prioritize creativity, everything else in my life begins to flow more naturally.

2. Get Inspired

The people around us shape the way we think.

Surround yourself with people who encourage authenticity instead of perfection.

Find communities that celebrate curiosity, creativity, healing, and growth.

Some of the most inspiring conversations happen when people gather simply to share ideas, dreams, and passions.

You don't have to do this journey alone.

3. Get Going

The fastest way to reconnect with your creativity is to become a beginner again.

Take the class you've been putting off.

Try pottery.

Learn photography.

Practice yoga.

Take a dance lesson.

Start writing.

Allow yourself to be imperfect.

Creativity doesn't require talent.

It requires permission.

A Gentle Reminder

The next time you catch yourself comparing your life to someone else's, pause.

Take one deep breath.

Then ask yourself:

What would feel authentic for me right now?

Not for someone else.

Not for social media.

Not for society.

For you.

Because your life isn't meant to look like anyone else's.

The world doesn't need another copy.

It needs your unique way of creating, loving, healing, and living.

And that's something comparison can never measure.
